To understand how and why our events are structured , you will need to understand our main aims and objectives and thus the expectations. Through the event we hope to:
- Make you better understand relationships and the opposite sex in the modern world
- Be more confident about yourself with the opposite sex.
- Communicate that confidence to the opposite sex
- Finally and most importantly, meeting people of your interest based on the Prophetic tradition on the importance of seeing the spouse before getting married.*

Post registration, profile cards* are completed, numbered ID badges are assigned and brothers and sisters are seated at either side of the hall with their profile cards posted at their opposite counterparts. To meet the above objectives and event is structured in 2 stages:
Firstly thematic mixed group ice-breaking sessions are facilitated in circles of around 10 of equal sexes, which provides an opportunity to meet and view in an Islamic manner, gauge opinions and standpoints in life before making a ‘informed’ decision whether to meet the person later on. Groups sessions are chaired by experienced facilitators maintaining the conversations which last around on average 7-10 minutes maximum. The men are then requested to move clockwise to a new set of sisters and groups sessions starts again. This is repeated until all participants have seen each other. During the whole session, participants are encouraged to note any potential candidates for a meeting later on, through an Interested Profile Sheet*, which they are given at registration and keep throughout the event and take it home for any follow ups.
Once groups sessions are complete, brothers and sisters are seated in their original positions to start the one-to-one meetings. Participants are encouraged to make ‘informed’ and ‘educated’ choices through displays of the profiles cards at the back of the room and note any potential candidates during the group sessions on their ‘Interested Profile Sheet’. A brother or sister who is interested in a particular profile will contact the designated profile facilitators, who will try to arrange a 20 minute meeting subject to interest from the opposite party. Similarly, if someone would like to enquire about a person whom they or their parents have noticed during the event, they will also be able to contact one of the profile facilitators and take things from there. Both interested parties are taken to a separate room which is open to all, and allowed to converse freely, with or without their Mahrams/Friends and allowed to exchange contact information. Once time allocated is complete the participant is free to pursue further meetings of their choice.
